SMSConnect
SMSConnect is a suite of connectors that enables you to share information from your Student Management system (SMS) with your FirstClass Learning Management System (LMS).
SMSConnect manages the FirstClass user accounts for you, ensuring as students come to your school, leave your school, change their electives or move into a new year, the FirstClass user account is updated automatically.
SMSConnect provides informative reporting to both your student population and your Facilty. From up to the minute NCEA and attendance reports, through to calendar management for your staff.
SMSConnect is easy to install, transparent to the environment once installed and works with a wide range of SMS products out of the box. Support for additional SMS packages can be added easily through the supplied forms.
Whats Included?
SMSConnect delivers information integration in three distinct areas - the Backend, the Student and the Teacher
Backend Integration
SMSConnect integrates your account and user management processes with your SMS data. A single FirstClass Server can connect to dozens of different SMS systems concurrently, ideal for hosted and shared server environments. Backend activities Include:
• Automatically create new users when they are added to the SMS
• Automatically delete users when they are removed from the SMS
• Update user privileges and permissions when they change electives or classes
• Exclude/Over-ride groups of users for automatic account management
Student Information
SMSConnect provides a wide variety of reports and information into a Portfolio area on the students desktop. Web template support means the Student and or Parent can access the portfolio information from either the client or the browser, when it suits them. Includes:
• NCEA report showing progress to date on both internally and externally assessed components
• Attendance report showing the students attendance record
• Students Timetable showing students classes and locations
• All information accessible from the FirstClass Client and the Web Browser
Teacher Information
SMSConnect provides a wide variety of reports and information into a Management area on the teachers desktop. Web template support means the Teacher can access the portfolio information from either the client or the browser, when it suits them. Includes:
• Class attendance sheets
• Calendar appointment and Reminder Management
No Hassle Management
SMSConnect is a set and forget type solution. Once our qualified installer has configured SMSConnect to deliver the content you want through your SMS package, the updates will happen automatically, at pre-scheduled intervals throughout the day. Updates can occur as frequently (or infrequently) as you prefer, and you have complete control over what reports are published and which account maintenance tasks occur.

• Enable or Disable any of the Account Management activities
• Control how often reports and accounts are updated
Support and Maintenance
An annual support and maintenance package is available that ensures you have access to the right technical knowledge should a problem occur. You also receive new and on-going updates, which may include new or enhanced reports, as part of the maintenance package.
